Wei-Chun Chan began her professional career as an architectural designer in Taiwan after she received a Bachelors degree in architecture. During her practice in the architectural design field, she became interested in how both daylight and artificial lighting can interact with spaces. She came to New York City to pursue her Master’s degrees in Lighting Design at Parsons School of Design and completed her degree in 2017.
She believes light is an essential element to elevate the design of projects and furthermore, to give personality to spaces. As a lighting designer, she has worked on various aspects and scales of projects - from residential, retail and hospitality, to corporate, healthcare, and landscape projects. By integrating her undergraduate design skills with the technical expertise she gained during graduate school, her work has allowed her to communicate design concepts clearly and effectively with clients.
